Shootin time again!

Good morning 4-H Garza County Shooting People!
Long time, no blog! It is time to start gearing up for shooting sports again. Seems that the weather might be leveling out some. Well, very few were able to attend the meeting last night. We will have the next trap practice on Monday, March the 7th at 5pm with a mandatory parent meeting at 6:30. There are several topics of discussion and Ray would like to have everyone involved, so please mark your calendars accordingly, and plan to be there.

Grant Garvin participated in the 2016 San Antonio Stock Show Junior Sale Trap Shoot on February 19-21^st.  He shot a perfect score of 100 on Friday the 19^th. That automatically put him into the finals on Sunday morning.  The finals consisted of the top five scores out of 811 participates.  The five all shot scores of 100.  The first time in the four year events history that this has happened.  The top three shooters in the shoot off would receive a Scholarship of $10,000 dollars.  Grant secured a top three placing after the first round of 25 shots and was assured the Scholarship.  He then shot two more rounds of 25 only dropping one bird to win Reserve Champion.  This was the second Scholarship Grant has won in recent months.  At the Heart of Texas Waco Stock show in October Grant was the overall winner claiming the top prize of $1000.00.  Last week’s tournament was the first of the year and he will be shooting in close to a dozen ATA and 4H tournaments in the coming months.  

Also, want to remind everyone that there is a benefit shoot this weekend at the South Plains Gun Club. I am attaching a flyer with all of the pertinent information. You may shoot individually or with a 3 man team. Cost is 55.00 per shooter. Good practice shoot. Hope to see you if you can make it.

Want to remind everyone that if your child has shot well at any shoot, we would like to post it on the blog. Send scores and pics and we will brag and boast with you. Gaines County shoot.

Good morning,
YES it has been a while since the last blog post! My apologies! The Branam's have been absolutely slammed. These children of ours keep us on our toes.
